INGREDIENTS
For the Chicken Burgers
- 2 lbs organic ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Tandoori masala
- ½ teaspoon cayenne
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon powdered cumin
- ½ teaspoon powdered coriander
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 1 teaspoon crushed ginger
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- salt to taste
For the Yogurt Sauce
- 1 cup whole milk plain yogurt
- ½ lime
- ½ teaspoon powdered cumin roasted
- 1 Serrano or Thai Gren Chillies minced
- salt to taste
To Assemble
- 4 burger buns
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 cucumber sliced
- ½ red onion sliced
- 1 tomato sliced
INSTRUCTIONS
For the Burger Patties
- Mix the ground chicken with all the other ingredients and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and form patties about 4-5 inches in diameter.
- Fire up the grill and grill the chicken burger patties on medium high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side till cooked all the way through. Use a meat thermometer to check – it should be 165F inside the center of the burger patty.
For the Buns
- Pat some butter on each of the burger bun slices and grill them till they are crispy.
For the yogurt sauce
- Mix all the ingredients well together.
To Assemble
- Spread some yogurt sauce on the bottom half of the bun. Place the chicken burger patty on top of it. Spread some more sauce.
- Top with onion, cucumber and tomato slices.
- Top with the top half of the burger bun and enjoy right away!
