Tater Tot Casserole

This classic tater tot casserole recipe is easy to make, and it’s sure to please everyone at the table. If you’re looking for something simple for dinner, this is it!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 15 ounces canned green beans drained (1 can)
  • 10 ounces cream of chicken soup (1 can)
  • 2½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese divided
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 16 ounces frozen tater tots do not thaw! (1 bag)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish and spray with cooking oil. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain grease.1 pound ground beef

  4. In a large bowl, mix together the drained green beans, cream of chicken, 1 cup of the divided cheese, sour cream, ketchup, and soy sauce.   5. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Make sure it’s evenly dispersed.
  6. Take frozen tater tots and arrange them in a single layer covering the beef mixture.16 ounces frozen tater tots
  7. Place the pan in the oven uncovered to cook for 25 minutes.
  8. Top tater tots with remaining 1 ½ cups of cheese over the casserole and return pan to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tater tots are golden brown. The sides should also be bubbly.
