Grilled Flank Steak with Cilantro

Grilled Flank Steak is a quick and easy recipe that you can make for dinner all summer long. This flank steak recipe is so tender and flavorful, with a delicious cilantro lime steak butter to make it even better. Serve it with your favorite sides, or slice it up for fajitas!

Ingredients

For the Cilantro Lime Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter room temperature (1 stick)
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice from ½ lemon
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest from 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Stir-In Chunky Garlic Paste

For the Grilled Flank Steak

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Stir-in Chunky Garlic Paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 pounds Flank Steak

Instructions

To Make Cilantro Lime Butter

  1. Take the softened butter and place it in a medium bowl.½ cup salted butter
  2. Stir in the cilantro, lime juice, lime zest, green onion, and garlic paste. Mash with a fork or spoon to fully combine.1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Cilantro,1 tablespoon fresh lime juice,2 teaspoons lime zest,1 teaspoon finely chopped green onion,1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Stir-In Chunky Garlic Paste
  3. Place the butter over plastic wrap and form into a log. Wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until firm.

For the Grilled Flank Steak

  1. Brush a grill or grill pan with canola oil and heat to high heat. (You want the grill HOT).
  2. In a small bowl, combine salt and pepper, garlic paste, olive oil and mustard powder. Stir to combine and form a paste. Rub both sides of steak with the paste.1 teaspoon kosher salt,½ teaspoon ground black pepper,1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Stir-in Chunky Garlic Paste,1 tablespoon olive oil,1 teaspoon mustard powder
  3. Place flank steak on grill and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side for rare, or 6-8 minutes per side for well done. We do something in between. Please see my Meat Temperature Chart for help deciding.2 pounds Flank Steak
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Cut into slices, against the grain.
  6. Before separating, slice butter and allow to melt over the steak.
