Sinabawang Isda

INGREDIENTS  

  • 3 cups Water or rice wash
  • 2 thumb size ginger sliced
  • 1 medium onion quartered
  • 3 medium tomato quartered
  • 2 lbs fresh red snapper or any fish available
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper or to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 small red bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup calamansi or lemon juice or 1 tbsp tamarind powder
  • 3 stalks green onions sliced

INSTRUCTIONS 

  1. Bring water into a quick boil. Add ginger, onion and tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes or until tomatoes are tender.
  2. Add fish and cover pot. Simmer for additional 5 minutes or until fish is cooked. Season with pepper and salt to taste. Add bell peppers and calamansi juice. Gently stir and simmer for few minutes.
  3. Add green onions and cook for a minute. Remove pot from heat and serve while hot with steamed rice. Enjoy!
