Perfect Brown Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 6 cups water
  • optional seasonings

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. You’ll need at least 6 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice. Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer under running water to remove the excess starch.
  2. Add the rice to the boiling water. Reduce the temperature to maintain a steady boil. Boil, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  3. Drain off the excess cooking water and return the rice to the pot. Cover the pot and let the rice rest, off the heat, for about 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and season as desired. Serve and enjoy!
