{"id":144,"date":"2023-02-28T17:14:51","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T17:14:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=144"},"modified":"2023-03-04T07:53:49","modified_gmt":"2023-03-04T07:53:49","slug":"pakistani-pakora-potato-fritters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/02\/28\/pakistani-pakora-potato-fritters\/17\/14\/144\/51\/appdev2098\/fry-items\/pakora\/","title":{"rendered":"PAKISTANI PAKORA (POTATO FRITTERS)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Ahhh the Pakistani pakora!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the best Pakoras (aka potato fritters) you will ever eat.&nbsp;&nbsp;Yup, I am making that claim because they are, quite simply, the best I\u2019ve ever had in the twin cities, either home or professionally made.&nbsp;&nbsp;They are so good, that I\u2019m actually a wee bit hesitant to share this recipe, because that means relinquishing the title of best pakora maker.&nbsp;&nbsp;However, I am making this sacrifice for the greater good.&nbsp;&nbsp;The world needs more of these awesome Pakistani pakoras.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are way too many bland, tasteless pakoras out there.&nbsp;&nbsp;NO MORE.&nbsp;&nbsp;I say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1&nbsp;small&nbsp;~90g onion&nbsp;(thinly sliced)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;small&nbsp;potato (~100g depending on potato type)&nbsp;(cut twice in half lengthwise and sliced)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>green chilli&nbsp;(if large and spicy, only need 1), chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>green coriander&nbsp;handful of leaves, chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;cumin&nbsp;(zeera)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;crushed red chili<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;tbsp (heaped)&nbsp;whole coriander seeds&nbsp;roughly crushed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;khatai powder&nbsp;(amchur)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>less than 1\/8&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;corn flour&nbsp;(cornstarch)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 1\/8 or 1 1\/4&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;salt&nbsp;(I prefer 1 1\/8 tsp)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;cup&nbsp;gram flour&nbsp;(besan)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\/4&nbsp;cup&nbsp;water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>oil&nbsp;(as needed for deep frying)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pour the oil in your deep fryer\/wok and heat on low flame.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chop the onion, potato, green chili and green coriander and combine in a mixing bowl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the cumin, crushed red chili, coriander seeds, khatai  powder, baking soda, corn flour, salt and gram flour. &nbsp;Mix together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slowly add in the water and mix.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase heat to medium flame.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a tablespoon to put tablespoonfuls of batter into the oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fry until golden brown and crispy, turning as needed to cook evenly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drain on paper towels before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipe Notes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The order that you put the ingredients in is very important. &nbsp;Follow the steps in the recipe exactly to get the desired result.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water amounts may vary based on your gram flour. &nbsp;Start with my measurement and increase water or add in more gram flour if necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ahhh the Pakistani pakora!
