{"id":1466,"date":"2023-08-13T15:33:07","date_gmt":"2023-08-13T15:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=1466"},"modified":"2023-08-13T15:33:08","modified_gmt":"2023-08-13T15:33:08","slug":"palak-tofu-spinach-tofu-curry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/13\/palak-tofu-spinach-tofu-curry\/15\/33\/1466\/07\/appdev2098\/countries-dinner-ideas\/indian-dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"Palak Tofu (Spinach Tofu Curry)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Palak Tofu\u00a0is a delicious, rich Indian curry recipe made with pan-fried tofu and spinach gravy in an Instant pot\u00a0or stovetop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Tofu<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>7&nbsp;oz&nbsp;extra-firm tofu&nbsp;cubed (about 1.5 cups)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoons\u00a0oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0red chili powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>salt and black pepper&nbsp;to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Gravy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10&nbsp;oz&nbsp;spinach (palak)&nbsp;(about 8-10 cups)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0cumin (jeera) seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd&nbsp;inch&nbsp;ginger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;cloves&nbsp;garlic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;green chili<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;medium&nbsp;onion&nbsp;(about 1 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;large&nbsp;tomato<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd&nbsp;cup&nbsp;water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>salt\u00a0to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)\u00a0optional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoons\u00a0coconut cream\u00a0(or fresh cream or cashew cream), optional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dry spices<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0turmeric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0red chili powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0coriander powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0garam masala<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Tofu:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add cubed tofu and sprinkle red chili powder, salt and pepper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Saute for 4-5 minutes till tofu turns light golden brown in color. Keep aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instant Pot Method:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press&nbsp;<strong>SAUTE<\/strong>&nbsp;on Instant Pot. Add oil to the POT. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and let the cumin splutter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next add roughly diced onions, ginger, garlic, green chili, and saute until onions turn light brown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add diced tomato, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, and cook for 1-2 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add water and deglaze the pot. Next add in the fresh spinach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close the Instant Pot with pressure valve to Sealing. Cook on High Pressure for 2 minutes. If using frozen spinach then set the timer to 1 Minute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the pot beeps, Do a QUICK RELEASE (QR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blend the ingredients in the pot to a creamy texture using an immersion blender. If you don&#8217;t have an immersion blender then take the mixture out, cool it, and then blend in a regular blender and add the mixture back to the instant pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lastly add garam masala, kasuri methi, and pan-fried tofu and mix well. You can also add some fresh cream or cashew cream. No need to boil\/saute again after adding Tofu. Let it sit for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stovetop Pot Method:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat oil in a kadai\/pot. Once the oil is hot add cumin seeds, let the cumin splutter then add onions, ginger, and garlic, green chili, and saute until onions turn light brown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next add diced tomato, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, and cook for 1-2 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add water and spinach. Close the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Then turn off the stove.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cool the mixture and blend the ingredients into a creamy texture using a blender. Later transfer the mixture into the Kadai.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add garam masala, kasuri methi, and pan-fried tofu and mix well. No need to boil\/saute again after adding paneer.
