{"id":1475,"date":"2023-08-13T15:39:21","date_gmt":"2023-08-13T15:39:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=1475"},"modified":"2023-08-13T15:39:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-13T15:39:22","slug":"aloo-gobi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/13\/aloo-gobi\/15\/39\/1475\/21\/appdev2098\/countries-dinner-ideas\/indian-dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"Aloo Gobi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Aloo Gobi is a healthy and delicious stir-fry made with potato, cauliflower that&#8217;s infused with Indian spices and extremely easy to make<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1&nbsp;medium&nbsp;cauliflower head&nbsp;washed and cut into florets (20-22 medium sized florets, about 3 cups)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;small&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;cut into \u00bd inch cubes (about 1 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoons\u00a0oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0cumin seeds (jeera)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tablespoon&nbsp;ginger garlic&nbsp;minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;green chili&nbsp;slit lengthwise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;medium&nbsp;onion&nbsp;finely chopped (about \u00be cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;small&nbsp;tomatoes&nbsp;finely chopped (about 1 cup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tablespoon&nbsp;lime juice&nbsp;OR 1 teaspoon Amchur powder (Dry mango powder)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;coriander leaves&nbsp;for garnish<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd&nbsp;cup&nbsp;water&nbsp;divided, (or as required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dry Spices<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0red chili powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0turmeric powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0coriander powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0garam masala<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>salt\u00a0to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instant Pot Method<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press&nbsp;<strong>SAUTE<\/strong>&nbsp;on Instant Pot. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter. Next, add green chili and minced ginger garlic and saute for 30 secs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, add onions and saute until onions turn light brown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chopped tomatoes, then add all the dry spices &#8211; coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy.Then add potato cubes along with \u00bc cup of water and mix well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover the pot with a glass lid and let the potatoes cook for around 3-4 minutes. You may stir them once in between.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the glass lid, add \u00bc cup of water to the pot, and deglaze it. There shouldn&#8217;t be any burnt bits at the bottom of the pot. Add the cauliflower florets and stir well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close the lid on the pot, and turn the pressure valve SEALING position. Set the pot to&nbsp;<strong>MANUAL\/PRESSURE COOK (Low Pressure)<\/strong>&nbsp;and set the timer to&nbsp;<strong>2 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the pot beeps, Do a QUICK RELEASE (QR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove lid away from you, add lime juice and garnish with cilantro. Mix well.<strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0After pressure cooking, if there\u2019s excess moisture from the vegetables left, saut\u00e9 it out until you get the desired consistency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aloo gobi masala<\/strong>\u00a0is ready. Serve hot with chapatis, roti, parathas, or naan.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stovetop Pot Instructions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Next, add green chili and minced ginger garlic and saute for another 30 seconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, add onions and saute until onions turn light brown. Takes about 3-5 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chopped tomatoes, and cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add in all the dry spices \u2013 coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes till the masala is cooked well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add potato cubes, and stir fry for 2-3 minutes. Add 2-3 tablespoons of water, and mix well. Cover and cook the potatoes for around 3-4 minutes till they are half done. You may stir occasionally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the potatoes are half cooked, add the cauliflower florets and stir to coat the vegetables with the masala.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Again cook covered on medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes, until both potatoes and cauliflower are almost tender. Add 2-3 tablespoons of water if the pot becomes dry. Cauliflower should be slightly crunchy.Squeez some lime juice and garnish with cilantro. Mix well.
