{"id":3703,"date":"2023-09-14T05:17:16","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T05:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=3703"},"modified":"2023-09-14T05:17:16","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T05:17:16","slug":"chicken-tikka-masala-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/09\/14\/chicken-tikka-masala-5\/05\/17\/3703\/16\/appdev2098\/day-indian-recipes\/dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Tikka Masala"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHICKEN MARINADE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2&nbsp;pounds&nbsp;boneless&nbsp;skinless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces (use chicken breast or chicken thigh, or both)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;cup&nbsp;plain yogurt&nbsp;whole milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6&nbsp;cloves&nbsp;garlic&nbsp;minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tablespoon&nbsp;minced ginger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;ground cumin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;garam masala<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;coriander<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;turmeric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;paprika<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TIKKA MASALA SAUCE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;medium onion&nbsp;chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;small bell pepper&nbsp;chopped (Use Kashmiri peppers if you can obtain them, or other local peppers)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;minced ginger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6&nbsp;cloves&nbsp;garlic&nbsp;minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;ground turmeric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;ground coriander<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;paprika<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;garam masala<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;ground cumin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;cayenne powder&nbsp;optional for extra spicy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc&nbsp;cup&nbsp;tomato paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;cups&nbsp;tomato sauce&nbsp;or more to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;cup&nbsp;water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;cup&nbsp;heavy cream<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FOR SERVING: Fresh chopped cilantro&nbsp;chili flakes, naan, steamed basmati rice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MARINATE THE CHICKEN<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add the chicken pieces to a small bowl. Add the yogurt, garlic, ginger, cumin, garam masala, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Marinate overnight for more developed flavor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ROAST THE CHICKEN<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Remove the chicken and place the marinated pieces onto skewers. Set them onto a lined baking sheet and bake them for 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Set aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MAKE THE TIKKA MASALA SAUCE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat the oil in a large pan to medium heat. Add the onion and peppers. Cook for 5 minutes to soften.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the ginger, garlic, cumin, turmeric, coriander, paprika, cayenne, and garam masala. Stir and cook for 30 seconds to bloom the spices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in the tomato paste, tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. You can simmer longer if you&#8217;d like to develop more flavor. Add a bit of water if the sauce becomes too thick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the heavy cream and stir to mix through.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the chicken from the skewers and stir it into the simmering sauce. Heat through for 2-3 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garnish and serve!
