{"id":3838,"date":"2023-09-15T04:17:47","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T04:17:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=3838"},"modified":"2023-09-15T04:17:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T04:17:47","slug":"bengali-style-prawn-pulao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/09\/15\/bengali-style-prawn-pulao\/04\/17\/3838\/47\/appdev2098\/flavorful-recipes\/flavorful\/","title":{"rendered":"BENGALI STYLE PRAWN PULAO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Prawn marinade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>350\u00a0gm\u00a0Banana Prawn\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or 15 pieces medium size prawn ~ peeled and deveined<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tsp\u00a0Ginger \u2013 Green chilli paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0tsp\u00a0Red Chilli powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc\u00a0tsp\u00a0Bengali Gorom moshla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the rice<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>350\u00a0gm\u00a0Short Grain Rice (Gobindo bhog or Kalijeera)\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or 1\u00bd cup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\u00a0cups\u00a0Boiling water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd\u00a0tbsp\u00a0Ginger and green chilli paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0large\u00a0Red onion\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or about 200 gm \u2013 sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10\u00a0gm\u00a0Raisins\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or 1 tbsp<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10\u00a0gm\u00a0Cashews\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or 10 pieces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0Bay leaves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\u00a0Green cardamons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6\u00a0cm\u00a0Cinnamon barks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8-10\u00a0strands\u00a0Saffron<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tbsp\u00a0Milk\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0warm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u215b\u00a0tsp\u00a0Nutmeg powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0tsp\u00a0Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt to taste\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0I added 1 \u00bd tsp<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\u00a0tbsp\u00a0Ghee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc\u00a0cup\u00a0White Oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-5\u00a0Green Chillies\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0slit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prep work<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wash the rice a couple of times and then soak it in the water for at least half an hour. Then drain the rice on a sieve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soak the saffron in warm milk for at least 15 mins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put the ginger and green chillies into the blender, pour water and try to make a smooth paste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take peeled, washed prawns in a shallow bowl add ginger-green chilli paste, red chilli powder, Gorom moshla powder and salt to taste. Mix everything well and let the prawns marinate for 15 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the rice in a mixing bowl, add 1 tbsp of ghee, ginger-green chilli paste, nutmeg powder and salt to taste. Mix everything well, cover with a lid.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cook<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take a heavy-duty cooking pot with a lid, set the pot over medium heat and pour about 2 tbsp of oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low, add 1tbsp spoon of ghee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add cashews in the oil and fry over medium heat for a minute to develop a golden colour, then with a help of a slotted spoon remove from the oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, add marinated prawns, fry for one or two minutes, then remove from the cooking pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the remaining oil to the cooking pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, add whole spices to the cooking pot, stir for a few seconds to release the aroma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add sliced onion and fry till it developed golden brown colour. It will take 7-8 minutes. Remove a small portion of fried onion from the oil and spread it on a plate, we will use it for garnish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add the rice, over medium heat fry the rice for about 6-7 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour boiling water into the rice. Increase the heat to high.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the liquid starts bubbling up, reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover with a lid. Cook till the rice is almost half cooked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add fried cashews, raisins, fried prawns, sugar, remaining ghee, and give a quick mix.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, add saffron milk, slit green chillies, fried onion and put the lid on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place a Tawa or iron griddle on the stovetop, once it is hot, place the pot where you cooked the rice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over medium-low heat continue dum-cooking for 10 -15 minutes.
