{"id":4918,"date":"2023-10-03T12:49:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T12:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=4918"},"modified":"2023-10-03T12:49:21","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T12:49:21","slug":"pan-fried-tofu-with-garlic-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/03\/pan-fried-tofu-with-garlic-sauce\/12\/49\/4918\/21\/appdev2098\/chinese-recipes-one\/healthier\/","title":{"rendered":"PAN-FRIED TOFU WITH GARLIC SAUCE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INGREDIENTS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the tofu<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>600\u00a0g\u00a0medium-firm tofu\u00a0&#8211;\u00a021oz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0corn starch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0cooking oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the sauce<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0cooking oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0minced ginger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0minced garlic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0fresh chilli, finely chopped,\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0or to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0Sichuan chilli bean paste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0Shaoxing rice wine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0black rice vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0corn starch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0stalk\u00a0scallions, finely chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INSTRUCTIONS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepare the tofu<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cut tofu into squares of about 1.5cm\/ 0.5inch thick. Pad each piece dry with a clean tea towel or kitchen paper. Sift corn starch over tofu to create a thin coating (both sides).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fry the tofu<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat up 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a wok (or a frying pan) over high heat. When the oil is hot, carefully place the tofu squares into the pan (Do not overlap. You might have to fry them in 2 batches).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn the heat down to medium. When one side becomes golden brown, flip over to cook the other side. Transfer onto a plate when both sides are done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cook the sauce<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>While waiting for the tofu to cook, mix Shaoxing rice wine, black rice vinegar<a href=\"https:\/\/redhousespice.com\/shaoxing-rice-wine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a>, water, sugar and corn starch. Set aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil into the same wok. Stir fry ginger, garlic, fresh chilli &amp; Sichuan chilli bean paste until fragrant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour in the liquid mixture (remember to stir well beforehand).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assemble the dish:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place tofu squares back into the wok. Gently move them around. Dish out when the sauce becomes thick and the tofu is evenly coated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garnish with scallions.
