{"id":5285,"date":"2023-10-07T12:34:14","date_gmt":"2023-10-07T12:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=5285"},"modified":"2023-10-07T12:34:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T12:34:15","slug":"pan-fried-chinese-dumplings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/07\/pan-fried-chinese-dumplings\/12\/34\/5285\/14\/appdev2098\/chinese-recipes-one\/pork\/","title":{"rendered":"Pan-Fried Chinese Dumplings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>cup<\/strong>&nbsp;soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/2<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>cup<\/strong>&nbsp;rice vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/4<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>teaspoon<\/strong>&nbsp;sesame oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>small cloves<\/strong>&nbsp;garlic&nbsp;<em>peeled and minced<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>tablespoon<\/strong>\u00a0peeled and minced ginger root\u00a0heaping tablespoon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR THE MEAT FILLING:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>3\/4<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>pound<\/strong>&nbsp;ground pork<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3<\/strong>&nbsp;green onions&nbsp;<em>diced (including chives)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>teaspoons<\/strong>&nbsp;peeled and&nbsp;diced ginger root<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>tablespoons<\/strong>&nbsp;chopped cilantro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>tablespoon&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>tablespoon&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;corn starch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>tablespoon&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/4<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>teaspoon<\/strong>&nbsp;ground black pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/8<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>teaspoon<\/strong>&nbsp;salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>&nbsp;egg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR THE DUMPLINGS:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>package (12 ounces)<\/strong>\u00a0approx. 50-count round pot sticker (gow gee) wrappers\u00a0or square wonton wrappers (using a round cookie cutter to cut the wrappers in circles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meat filling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/4<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>cup<\/strong>\u00a0canola oil\u00a0approx. 2 tablespoons per batch made in a medium-size to large-size skillet (more oil may be needed depending on the size of the skillet used)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1\/2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>cup<\/strong>\u00a0water\u00a0for adhering edges of the wonton wrappers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>cups<\/strong>\u00a0water\u00a0for cooking dumplings (use approximately 1 cup water per batch of dumplings made in a large-size skillet); depending on the number of batches, another cup may be needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sprigs of cilantro\u00a0for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a medium size bowl, add all ingredients and whisk together. Set aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR THE DUMPLINGS:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For the Meat Filling<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; In a large bowl, add the ground pork, onions, ginger root, cilantro, garlic, sugar, corn starch, soy sauce, pepper, salt, and egg. Mix all ingredients together.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Making the Wontons<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Lay a wonton skin on a small plate. Using a pastry brush or your finger, put water around the edge of the wonton skin (about \u00bd inch from the outside edge towards the middle).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a small amount of the pork mixture (about \u00bd teaspoon, heaping) just inside of the edge where the water is.Fold the wonton skin over the meat and gently, but tightly pinch the edges of the dumpling together.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set aside on a parchment paper-lined large cookie sheet or a platter, and cover with a damp paper towel (to prevent them from drying out) while making the remaining dumplings .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cooking the Dumplings<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Heat a medium to large-size skillet on medium heat and add the canola oil (2 tablespoons per batch).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the dumplings and let cook until the bottom side is a golden brown. Turn the heat off, transfer the wontons back on to the cookie sheet or a platter.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat another medium to large-size skillet on medium heat and add the water. When the water starts to boil, transfer the dumplings back to the pan, browned-side down.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover the pan and set the burner on low to steam the dumplings.
