Please note that the size of the cups affects the cooking time. Do not choose cups with thick walls as the heat won\u2018t penetrate them easily. You can use aluminum foil to cover the cups if they don\u2018t have lids.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Prepare the Hot Water Bath<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a large pot, place the chawanmushi cups (with their lids on) to make sure they fit in the pot. Then, pour enough water to reach halfway up the sides of the cups. Remove the cups and cover the pot with a lid. Bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat. Meanwhile, prepare the ingredients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Prepare the Ingredients<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gather all the ingredients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut\u00a0<strong>2 chicken tenders<\/strong>\u00a0into \u00bd-inch (1.3 cm) pieces and put them in a tray or bowl. Add\u00a0<strong>1 Tbsp sake<\/strong>\u00a0to coat the chicken pieces and set aside for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut your\u00a0<strong>8 slices kamaboko (fish cake)<\/strong>\u00a0thinly. Trim off the bottom of\u00a0<strong>1.8 oz shimeji mushrooms<\/strong>\u00a0and separate them into small clusters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make a knot in each stem of&nbsp;<strong>4 sprigs mitsuba (Japanese parsley)<\/strong>&nbsp;(see photo).
