{"id":7189,"date":"2023-11-27T12:07:28","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T12:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=7189"},"modified":"2023-11-27T12:07:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T12:07:28","slug":"vegan-filipino-pancit-bihon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/11\/27\/vegan-filipino-pancit-bihon\/12\/07\/7189\/28\/appdev2098\/filipino-recipes-two\/pancit\/","title":{"rendered":"VEGAN FILIPINO PANCIT BIHON"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INGREDIENTS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 \u00be\u00a0cups\u00a0water\u00a0divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a08-oz bag of bihon or rice stick noodles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0low sodium soy sauce\u00a0divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0vegan bouillon paste\u00a0or substitute 1 cube vegan bouillon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0teaspoon\u00a0organic granulated sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0neutral oil\u00a0divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a014-oz package of extra firm tofu\u00a0pressed and diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tablespoon\u00a0low sodium soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0small onion\u00a0chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be\u00a0cup\u00a0green beans\u00a0sliced into 2-inch pieces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5\u00a0cloves\u00a0garlic\u00a0minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be\u00a0cup\u00a0green cabbage\u00a0cored and very thinly sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be\u00a0cup\u00a0carrots\u00a0julienned<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be\u00a0cup\u00a0celery\u00a0sliced on a bias<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt\u00a0to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freshly cracked black pepper\u00a0to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To serve:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Green onions\u00a0sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calamansi (aka Filipino lemon)\u00a0or substitute lemon wedges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INSTRUCTIONS&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prepare the noodles:&nbsp;<\/strong>Boil 4 cups of water in a large pot. Place noodles in a large mixing bowl, then pour over the boiling water, continuously stirring the noodles for 2 minutes. Rinse and drain the noodles a couple of times in cool water to remove to the excess starch. Set aside.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the pancit sauce:&nbsp;<\/strong>In a small bowl, whisk together \u00be cup of water, 3 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce, vegetable bouillon and sugar and set aside.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cook the tofu:<\/strong>&nbsp;Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or pan over medium-high heat. Add tofu and pour over 2 tablespoon soy sauce. Pan-fry until golden brown. Set aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cook the vegetables:<\/strong>&nbsp;Add 1 tablespoon oil to wok. Cook onion 1 minute, add green beans and cook an additional 7 minutes, or until onions begin to brown. Add garlic, cabbage, carrots and celery, and cook 2 minutes. Add pancit sauce to wok and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cook until green beans are tender, about 2-3 minutes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add noodles and quickly stir until coated in sauce. Then stir in tofu and remove from heat.&nbsp; Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste. Garnish with green onions and serve with calamansi or lemon wedges.
