{"id":7688,"date":"2023-11-30T08:00:46","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T08:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/?p=7688"},"modified":"2023-11-30T08:00:46","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T08:00:46","slug":"ground-beef-and-potato-curry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saad.appscodestudio.com\/index.php\/2023\/11\/30\/ground-beef-and-potato-curry\/08\/00\/7688\/46\/appdev2098\/beef-recipes-three\/asian-beef-recipes-three\/","title":{"rendered":"GROUND BEEF AND POTATO CURRY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INGREDIENTS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Whole Spices (Omit any you don&#8217;t have)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1&nbsp;2-inch&nbsp;cinnamon stick<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;cumin seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3&nbsp;whole cloves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2\u00a0tsp\u00a0coriander seeds,\u00a0optional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;whole black peppercorns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aloo Keema<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\/3\u00a0cup\u00a0(73\u00a0g)\u00a0neutral oil (I use grapeseed or avocado)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0large onion,\u00a0finely chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5-6\u00a0cloves\u00a0(~1\u00a0tbsp)\u00a0garlic,\u00a0crushed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0inch\u00a0(~1\u00a0tbsp)\u00a0piece ginger,\u00a0crushed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0lb\u00a0(454\u00a0g)\u00a0ground beef,\u00a0lean and full-fat both work, though lean is a bit more dry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0large tomato (or 2 small),\u00a0finely chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1-2\u00a0Serrano or Thai chili peppers,\u00a0sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tsp\u00a0coriander powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0tsp\u00a0cumin powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3\/4&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;turmeric powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4\u00a0tsp\u00a0red chilli powder,\u00a0or to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;fresh ground black pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 1\/2\u00a0tsp\u00a0kosher salt,\u00a0or to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2&nbsp;tbsp&nbsp;plain, whole milk yogurt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00a0medium to large\u00a0(~250\u00a0g)\u00a0russet potato,\u00a0peeled and cubed into 1\/2&#8243; cubes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Garnishing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\/8 to 1\/4\u00a0tsp\u00a0garam masala,\u00a0optional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2&nbsp;tsp&nbsp;fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0tbsp\u00a0cilantro leaves,\u00a0chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INSTRUCTIONS&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the oil, whole spices, and onions and saut\u00e9 until the onions are golden brown (~8-10 min). Deglaze the pan with 2 tbsp of water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the water dries up, add the garlic and ginger and saut\u00e9 for a minute. Add ground beef and cook, stirring often, until it changes color and the moisture dries up (~4-5 min). Use a wooden spatula to break up the beef into small pieces to ensure no lumps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the tomato, green chili pepper, ground spices, salt, and yogurt and continue to saut\u00e9 for 4-5 minutes, or until the tomato breaks down and the oil starts to separate from the ground beef. Add the potatoes and 1\/4 cup water and stir to combine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lower the heat to low-medium. Cover, and allow it to cook for 23-25 minutes (depending on the thickness of potato cubes), stirring once in between. The potatoes will be very tender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If needed, turn the heat to high and saut\u00e9 out any extra moisture. Turn off the heat and add the\u00a0garam masala\u00a0(if using), lemon juice, and cilantro.
